Lake Conroe

Welcome to Lake Conroe

Residents of Lake Conroe can enjoy year around boating on the 21-mile lake in Montgomery County, which covers 20,118 acres. The lake was built in 1973 and is a clean reservoir built for the city of Houston as an alternate water supply. Roughly 16,000 people live in Lake Conroe. There are many luxurious neighborhood options on the lake such as Walden, Bentwater, April Sound and others. Within these neighborhoods are waterfront homes, condos, and villas. There are also numerous neighborhoods off the lake, at a variety of price points. Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, swimming, water sports, golfing, tennis, and more. It is close enough to big city amenities and renowned health care facilities but is far enough way to have the serenity of the lake.  Lake Conroe has many dining options that can be reached by boat, which makes for a fun adventure. There are also regular dining and shopping options throughout the community and even multiple breweries that make for a fun afternoon outside. Three different school districts are zoned to the varying neighborhoods in the Lake Conroe area: Montgomery ISD, Conroe ISD, and Willis ISD. The Sam House National Forest surrounds Lake Conroe and regions to the north. It is an ideal place to hike and enjoy the natural beauty of a forest.  Lake Conroe is perfect for people who love the lake lifestyle, who are looking to retire in a peaceful place, or who enjoy a weekend getaway.
